The first of our diptychs; the idea was to show, "despite it all," how we (Guy Marc Hinant and Frédéric Walheer) had undertaken prior to founding the label, i.e. as unsatisfied and revolted young men putting bands together and believing in them for a few months - Pseudocode and Kaa Antilope (active 1980-1982). Waving Ondulata (1980-1984), whose modus operandi consisted mainly in talking in a room and occasionally executing extremely violent and obscure performances in alternative spaces. We remember this era as the Captagon years. The LP, one of our first productions, was released in 1988.
The second half of the diptych (released as a CD in 1992) was a compilation of what I was calling the Sub Rosa Archives and which consisted in a mix of various sound pieces recorded by John Scividia (India, Turkey) and us (France, Belgium), forming kinds of long pictureless films where ambiences blended in with other materials sourced from my first experimental films.
